Ever since Newground's face lift, many users have yet to create their own avatars. I suppose this has something to do with the strict upload policy NG has for these small images that appear whenever you post a comment/review on a flash.

Apparently files: i) cannot be over 46x46 in size or ii) over 20kb. To make things "worse", we are limited ONLY to GIF files. Now that's an issue for some people since "mspaint" does a horrible job retaining image quality when saving any image as a GIF, and many users do not have advanced graphic editing programs.

Now to the point. I have hosted a program called Irfan View, which is a freeware program specifically designed to convert images into other formats, with user-controllable quality and size settings...perfect for use here at NG. You can download it here: www.cbicore.com/dl/IrfanView_4.10.exe
